Mette is an intern at Hague Corporate Affairs, now part of FGS Global.
As part of the internship team, Mette focuses on monitoring political and societal developments at both national and international levels. Every morning, she reads newspapers, follows debates, and analyzes the media to identify new developments.
Mette has found politics to be an interesting field for a long time, and she wants to expand her knowledge of policy-making during her internship at Hague. Her personal interest mainly revolves around geopolitical issues and political developments that directly impact society, such as climate policy and healthcare.
Since high school, Mette has been interested in rhetoric, framing, and the persuasive power of language in general. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Dutch language and culture, she decided to do an internship as part of her master’s in Dutch Language and Communication (both at Leiden University) to deepen her interest in politics.
During her internship at Hague Corporate Affairs, Mette aims to gain more knowledge about how effective policy advice and the creation of policy can address societal issues. She strives to combine her academic background in strategic communication with in-depth knowledge of the policy-making process at the intersection of business and politics, in order to create a compelling and impactful narrative.
