Wieger is an intern at Hague Corporate Affairs.
Wieger plays a key role in monitoring the external environment for our colleagues at Hague. Wieger reviews newspapers to ensure timely updates, tracks significant debates, and shares relevant developments in both media and politics every morning. His strong personal interest in geopolitical issues—such as the energy transition, military affairs, and technological advancements—drives his work. Wieger is highly motivated to understand how decision-making happens at the intersection of business and politics, which led him to pursue an internship at Hague Corporate Affairs.
During his Master’s program, he focused on the strategic autonomy of the European Union and wrote his thesis on the integration of the European defence industry. In his research, Wieger explored the challenges and opportunities for a unified European defence structure amidst growing geopolitical tensions. Before coming to Hague, he gained valuable practical experience as an intern at the VVD party office in The Hague.
