Tijn Emmer is a Junior Advisor at Hague Corporate Affairs, now part of FGS Global.
With a background in linguistics and a strong interest in one of today’s most pressing political issues—migration—Tijn has specialized in the role of narratives in policy development. This has given him deep insight into how storytelling and language shape perceptions, influence policymaking, and mobilize public opinion.
He has applied this knowledge in complex environments. Tijn worked for the EU Delegation in Jordan, focusing on refugee issues and human rights. Later, he joined Ernst & Young, where he specialized in labor migration, a topic of growing relevance in the Netherlands. In this role, he used his expertise to help multinationals navigate the challenges and opportunities of labor migration. These experiences have given him an international perspective, allowing him to connect geopolitical shifts with local developments and translate these insights into strategic advice for clients.
At Hague Corporate Affairs, now part of FGS Global, Tijn continues this work by translating complex issues into clear, strategic recommendations. This makes him a valuable partner for organizations seeking to shape public discourse and maximize their impact. Tijn is eager to help you craft the right narrative to achieve your goals.
Tijn studied English Language & Culture (literature and linguistics) at the University of Amsterdam before completing a master’s degree in International Relations. During his master’s, he conducted research for the Externalizing Migration Control (EMiC) project, examining the persistence of scientifically inaccurate narratives in Western migration policy.
Tijn further expanded his international experience as a diplomatic trainee at the EU Delegation in Jordan, where he focused on political affairs and human rights. Before joining Hague Corporate Affairs, now part of FGS Global, he worked as a consultant at Ernst & Young, specializing in labor migration.
