In 2017, the municipality of The Hague officially joined the network of ‘100 resilient cities’. An alliance of 100 world cities that inspire each other to work on their resilience for (future) challenges.
The world is changing rapidly and the network ensures that the cities are preparing themselves for these changes. Particularly in the areas of climate change, social inequality and digitisation, the challenges faced are enormous. The idea of this network is that cities help each other to find solutions to these issues. In addition to The Hague and Rotterdam, this network consists of world cities such as New York, Rio de Janeiro and Bangkok.
In order to inform Hague officials and citizens about the 100 resilient cities network, the municipality asked us to build a website and provide the content for this website. The website gave a stage to Hague initiatives that prepare the city for the future.
Together with Boerenjongens, Hague took care of the communication strategy, the website, the videos and the texts. This way, the municipality showed its residents what the 100 resilient cities network is and how it contributes to the future of The Hague.
Resilience, social challenges and economic impact. These terms belonging to the network are not known to everyone. That is why we chose the overarching theme together with the municipality: The Strong City. . After all, a resilient city preparing for the future is a Strong City.
This film explains that The Hague is a strong city and how citizens themselves can ensure that their city remains resilient.
